강연주제: Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century: teachers, schools and the demands of change
강의 내용: Abstract: Around the world, the pace of education reform is accelerating. Under pressure from widespread social and economic change, sharp fiscal retrenchment and the expanding knowledge base for effective education, governments are eager to find policy interventions which give their education systems a comparative advantage. There is widespread research and policy consensus that teaching quality is a key determinant of system performance, but there is much less agreement about how to secure improvements in teacher quality: improving pre-service teacher education or improving in-service teacher developments; centralising the management of teacher performance or devolving it; measuring the quality of teachers or the quality of teaching. The lecture will review what we know about high performance teaching and how best to get it.
